I have no problem working on the major fixes throughout this weekend; thank you for the assistance with the minor fixes on the entries I've been working on. Sometimes I make an error, and it's hard to see exactly what it is until the album is already up. :thumbsup:

As a split album:
Example:
Tracks 1, 5 by X
Tracks 2,6 by Y
Tracks 3, 7 by Z
etc.
It is not the first split in the database that offers such an arrangement of songs.
Add links to the band pages in the additional notes. Like always.

If it takes more than 5 minutes to find the info about the split, I usually skip it. The three most helpful resources are discogs.com, cultmetal.com and spirit-of-metal.com.

I will see about some more when I get back from work today, though I had a question: Will the list be updated to include more splits in the near future or once this list is completed? I oddly find enjoyment in doing this.

a good question. I doubt that we will be able to get all the messed up releases done and still are a lot of them left unnoticed; I added today another one.

The problem is: I contacted several bands and one replied to me today and told me that the split was a DIY. Actually, I asked for the tracklist, but we should be glad that we have this highly important information now, too.

A lot of the unfixed releases need some research and bands need to be contacted. Such is a time consuming and often fruitless task, as some might not have the motivation to answer or offer pointless information. I expected such, but we should continue with this.

I've contacted a few bands, and they were helpful. I also ended up acquiring a few of the splits, at least to confirm whether a tracklist is as it should be. Some take quite a bit of work, others not so much. But it's a reasonable start, I suppose.

In addition to the ones in the list, if we find splits that don't fit the standards you mentioned in the original post, shall we go ahead and do them anyway? Then list them here so Evenfiel can clean them up? In turn, making this a thread not merely for the given list, but for any splits that are incorrectly added in MA.

In that case, it's probably best to contact the artist and possibly the label. There was one article I noticed that did say it was released, and I think I may try contacting the article's creator to ask where they got their source from. But it was written in 2004, so I doubt they would remember or even know. Have you had much luck in this forum? Hmm, I don't seem to have much luck with it, but it's related directly to Isaz, at least.

I fixed so many splits on this site and I always did this with the report function. This thread is more or less a reaction on my annoyance towards the mess that is on several sites. Iskra for instance had all splits added wrongly and the more pages I saw, the more grew in me the opinion that some effort should be done to clean the mess up. If you find wrongly added splits, then try to correct then, yet this thread might be a good place to ask for help on how to fix something or for information in case a homepage is in a language you do not speak or so.

I added information to the additional notes to both sites. As there is no tracklist, there is not much lost by deleting the release.

It seems better to have a big list right in the first post, instead of burying it in an old the thread. If you just want to fix splits that aren't in the list, you can do so and then post them here for removal.

About the Faustian Moon / Isaz split, it looks quite suspect. It was added almost five years ago, none added any information to it and only one user had it in his collection. I've contacted him to check if more information can be found.
